Overviews
Common Entrance Test CET-Tamil Nadu is conducted by TNSF-Consortium
(Consortium of Self - Financing Professional, Arts and Science Colleges
in Tamil Nadu). The test is conducted for the candidates who are willing
to do MBA / MCA courses available in the listed colleges coming under
the TNSF-Consortium in the management quota seats.
Eligiblity Criteria
(a) The candidate should be a citizen of India and should have undergone
MBBS / BDS courses in the State of Tamil Nadu.
(b) Candidates who have passed their MBBS / BDS Examinations and completed/
completing the CRRI period on or before 2010 are eligible to write the
Entrance Examination. However the candidates should possess the permanent
Medical / Dental Council Registration Certificates of the States or
of India at the time of counselling for allotment of seats. Those candidates
who are undergoing CRRI should enclose a certificate from Head of the
Institutions in which they are undergoing the CRRI, that they will be
completing the CRRI on or before 2010, failing which their applications
will be rejected.
The candidates should possess M.B.B.S. / B.D.S. Degree of Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University or of any other University recognised as equivalent to Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and recognised by the Medical / Dental Council of India. Candidates who have qualified from other Universities should produce ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE from Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Guindy, Chennai 600 032 at the time of counselling failing which they will not be considered for selection.
Test Pattern
Common Entrance Test will be conducted to test the ability of the candidates
in the areas:
Quantitative Ability
Analytical Reasoning
Logical Reasoning
Knowledge Of Written English
Computer Awareness.
Reservations: SC/ST -18 per cent, BC-5 per cent,
PH -3 percent, 50 seats in B.E./B.Tech./B.Arch. and 5 seats in B.Tech.
(Industrial Bio-Tech) are reserved for candidates outside Tamil Nadu.
Furthermore following seats are reserved for B.E. of2 seats, for Children
of ex-servicemen of the State 4 seats for sons/daughters of ex-servicemen
of the State, 1 seat for Children/Ward of staff of the State, Employed
in Defence service, Sportsnien-5 seats.
Selection: The TNPCEE conducted by Anna University consists of three papers-(l) Biology, (2) Physical Sciences (Physics,Chemistry and General Knowledge) and (3) Mathematics. The candidates have to appear in papers (1) or (3) depending upon his choice and paper (3).
Weightage in these two examinations is in the ratio of 200 :
100.
For B.Arch test besides qualifying examination and TNPCEE candidates
would have to sit for an additional aptitude test and weightage would
be given in the ratio 200 : 50 : 50.
For B.Tech (Industrial Bio-Tech) candidates would be selected on the
basis of their marks in the qualifying examination and Entrance Test
adopting the weightage 200 : 100.
