Overviews
EAMCET is the abbreviation for Engineering, Agriculture and Medical
Common Entrance Test (EAMCET) conducted by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological
University (JNTU), Hyderabad on behalf of Andhra Pradesh State Council
of Higher Education, to select candidates for admission to professional
and technical colleges of Andhra Pradesh. Candidates who successfully
clear EAMCET get admission into first semester program of engineering
/ agricultural / architecture / medical courses.
Eligibility
The minimum qualification to appear for EAMCET-2010 is:
1. For admission to the Engineering, B.Pharmacy (M.P.C), B.Tech Dairying, B.Tech (Ag.Engineering), B.Tech (Food Science and Technology) (FS&T), B.Sc (Commercial Agri & Business Mgt) (CA&BM) courses, candidates should have passed or appeared in the final year of Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as optional or related vocational courses in the fields of Engineering and Technology, conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh along with bridge course or courses conducted by it for candidate enrolled during 2009-2010 and subsequent batches, or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the Board of Intermediate Education, Andhra Pradesh or candidates should have passed or appeared at the final year of the Diploma examination in Engineering conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognized as equivalent thereto by the State Board of Technical Education and
Training, A.P.
In the case of Engineering, Pharmacy courses, candidates should have
completed 16 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission.
There is no upper age limit. In the case of B.Tech Dairying, B.Tech
(Ag.Engineering), B.Tech (FS&T) and B.Sc (CA & BM) offered in
Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University, candidates should have completed
17 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission and an
upper age limit of 22 years for all the candidates and 25 years in respect
of scheduled caste and scheduled tribe candidates as on 31st December
of the year of Admissions.
2. Candidates seeking admission to agricultural and medicine courses through EAMCET 2010 should appear for Biology, Physics and Chemistry in EAMCET-2010 (AM Category).
A. For admission to MBBS/BDS Courses through EAMCET 2010, candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of the Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optionals which shall include a practical test in these subjects,or any examination (10+2 pattern) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology including practical test in each of these subjects, recognized as equivalent to Intermediate by the Board of Intermediate Education, Hyderabad.
Candidates should have completed 17 yrs of age as on 31st December of the year of admission and an upper age limit of 22 yrs for all the candidates and 25 yrs in respect of SC/ST candidates as on 31st December of the year of admissions.
B. For admission to B.Pharm Courses through EAMCET 2010, candidates should have passed or appeared for the final year of the Intermediate Examination (10+2 pattern) with Physics, Chemistry and Biology optionals, conducted by the Board of Intermediate Education, Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh or any other examination recognized by the Board of Intermediate Education as equivalent thereto. They should have completed 16 years of age as on 31st December of the year of admission. There is no upper age limit.
C. For admission to B.Tech courses through EAMCET 2010 candidates should have pursued or appeared for the final year of Intermediate examination (10+2 pattern) with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as optional along with the bridge course examination in Mathematics conducted by Board of Intermediate Education, Govt. of A.P shall be eligible.
Reservation
EAMCET Entrance Exam 15 % for SC, 6 % for ST, 25 % for BC, 1 % for Children
of Service/ Ex-Serviceman, 30 % for Woman Candidates.
Admission Procedure :
Candidates with Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry as optional subjects
in their Intermediate or its equivalent course should submit “E”
category application for Engineering (B.E/B.Tech/B.Tech (Ag.Engg) /B.Tech
(Dairying)/ B.Tech (FS&T) (MPC) /B.Sc (CA&BM) (MPC) and B. Pharm
(MPC) courses.
Candidates with Biology, Physics and Chemistry as optional subjects in their Intermediate or its equivalent course should submit “AM” category application for Agriculture (B.V.Sc., and A.H/B.Sc (Agr)/B.Sc (Hort)/B.F.Sc/B.Tech (FS&T) (Bi.P.C)/B.Sc (CA&BM) (Bi.P.C)/ Medical (MBBS/BDS/ BAMS/BHMS/ BNYS) and B. Pharm (Bi.P.C) courses.
Eligible candidates who intend to seek admission to both the courses in 4.1 and 4.2 have to submit “E” and “AM” category applications in a single cover only, so that the same test center can be allotted for both the tests.
Applications form together with the enclosures including the “Instruction Booklet” can be had in person (not by post) on payment of Rs. 250/- (this amount covers the cost of application, fees for entrance test, and towards Service charges for Post offices) in cash AT ALL THE HEAD POST OFFICES AND ALL e-SEVA CENTRES within the state of Andhra Pradesh.
EAMCET – 2010 application may be submitted online or offline. For details refer the website of EAMCET.
Filled in Application should be submitted to the Regional Coordinator in person as mentioned in the Instruction Booklet or to the Convener, EAMCET – 2010, SIT Building, Cellar portion, Kukatpally, Hyderabad – 500 085 by Regd. Post.
Candidates shall be ranked in the order of merit in the EAMCET-2010 on the aggregate marks. Rank obtained in EAMCET-2010 is valid for admission to the courses mentioned in the application form, for the academic year 2010-2010 only. Rank card will be posted to the candidate’s address as given in the application.
