Puducherry Joint Entrance Test 2010 will be conducted for the admission of students to the first year B.D.S, B.V.Sc & Ah, B.Tech, B.Pharm, B.SC (MLT), B.Sc (Nursing) and B.P.T courses in the government sponsored colleges of Puducherry. It will be organized by the Centralized Admission Committee. Admission is granted to the students on the basis of their performance in the entrance examination. Higher Secondary Examination results of the students are also accessed during the time of admission

Admission: Merit list for admission to LL.B degree course shall be based on the marks obtained in the qualifying examination and on the JET - 2010 giving equal weightage to both.

Application Procedure for Joint Entrance Test and Admission

Candidates who are required to appear in JET - 2010 for seeking admission to the LL.B degree courses under CENTAC shall apply in the prescribed application forms.

Necessary application forms 9 one for JET-2010 and another for admission) along with the information Bulletin can be obtained on or after April 2010 in person from the following post offices on all working days on payment of Rs.115/- ( Rs.100/- towards the cost of application and Rs.15/- for service charges) and Rs.40/- ( Rs.25/- towards the cost of application and Rs.15/- for service charges) for SC/ST candidates

Pondicherry : Head Post Office & Pondicherry engineering College Post Office Extension Counter , Karaikal , Mahe and Yanam Post Offices.

Application forms can also be obtained by post by sending a request along with two self addressed slips ( neatly typed or hand written ) and a crossed Demand Draft for Rs.165/- (Rs.100/- towards the cost of application and Rs.65/- for speed post) and Rs.90/- ( Rs.25/- towards the cost of application and Rs.65/- for speed post ) for SC/ST candidates, to The Convenor, CENTAC, Pondicherry Engineering College Campus, Pondicherry - 605 014. The Demand Draft should be drawn in favour of "The Convenor, CENTAC" payable at Pondicherry. payment by Cheque, Money Orders and Postal Orders Will Not be accepted.

Eligibility
Age: 17-21 yrs on 31st December of the year of admission (17-24 yrs in case of SC/ST candidates).

Educational Qualification: Candidate must has passed HSC (Academic) exam conducted by the board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or its equivalent in first attempt securing 50% marks in Biology, Physics and Chemistry. (Improvement marks are not considered).

Candidates should be medically fit.
Criteria for Domicile (For Pondicherry candidates)
5 yrs stay in Pondicherry.

Passed SSLC/HSC and had for that purpose undergone academic studies continuously for 3 successive classes immediately preceding the qualifying exam located in the UT of Pondicherry and having their residence in Pondicherry

Exceptions: Children of Central/State Government employees/Public Sector Undertaking serving in Pondicherry; French nationals residing in the UT of Pondicherry.

Reservation of Seats: 75% - 85% of seats are reserved for Pondicherry residents and remaining from other parts of India.

Puducherry Joint Entrance Test pattern

Puducherry Joint Entrance Test has three papers- Paper I Mathematics, Paper II Physical Science and Paper III Biology. All the three papers conducted are of two hours duration and consists of objective type of questions. Candidates willing to take admission to B.Tech course will have to appear for examination on Paper I and Paper II. For other
courses students will have to appear for tests in Paper II and Paper III.

Candidates seeking admission to the B.Pharm courses will have to sit for Paper II, which is compulsory.
