Overviews of NFSC 2010
The idea of opening a Training College for Fire Service personnel of
the country was conceived in the Expert Committee Meeting held in 1950
and the National Fire service college was established in 1956 at Rampur,
U.P., and was later shifted to the present location viz., Nagpur, considering
the Geographical and climatic advantage the city has. The college is
housed at the Old Settlement Commissionate Building, altered the premises
to the adequacy of a fire service Training Center, with sufficient space
for conducting Fire Drills, and Demonstrations. The National Fire Service
College , Nagpur functions under the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government
of India, New Delhi.
Eligibility for NFSC 2010
Age: Candidates applying for the 35th All India Entrance Examination should be between 18 and 23 years as on 01.07.2010. Upper age limit is relax able by 5 years for SC/ST candidates & personnel serving on regular basis in the recognised fire services. Candidates will be required to produce relevant valid documents as proof of caste for obtaining age relaxation.
Educational Qualifications for NFSC 2010
Minimum HSSC/ Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent academic qualifications. Candidates must be able to read, write, speak and comprehend instructions, both in Hindi and English.

Fees in form of Indian Postal Order ONLY will be accepted along with
the application form.

Fee for unreserved candidates : Rs100/-
Fee for SC/ST candidates : Rs 25/-
Application form without fees or less fees will be rejected. Fees in form of Demand Draft will be rejected.
Written Examination
The examination will be conducted in 2 sessions on the same day. Question
paper will be printed bilingually (Hindi & English) and the same
can be answered by the candidate in either Hindi or English. The question
paper will be objective type and of the level of intermediate (10 +
2).

First session: General English and General Knowledge.
Second Session: General Science and Mathematics.
Examination Centers for NFSC
2010
Written examination will be held at Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai
and Nagpur ONLY. Call letters will be sent to ONLY eligible candidates
by post. Candidates have to choose any one of the above centers. Center
of examination may be changed at the discretion of the college.
Seats
There are a total of 90 seats (30 for each course including 5 seats
for SC/ST and 2 seats reserved for the children of deceased/in- service
employees of NFSC, Nagpur). The course shall be conducted in three batches
(30 each) in the month of July 2009, January 2010 and July 2010. Change
of session shall not be allowed under any circumstances.
Payment of TA/DA
Candidates are not eligible for any TA/DA from the college.
Grant of Admission
Admission will be granted to the candidates based on the overall order
of merit on the basis of written examination and Medical fitness. Results
will be communicated individually to the selected candidates only by
post.

Last Date for Receipt of Applications: Applications in the prescribed Performa only should reach this college latest by January, 2010. In service candidates should apply through proper channel. Applications received after this date will be rejected. Candidates serving in recognised Fire Services will have to undergo their training at their own expense, provided they are selected in all respects.
The entrance examination will be held on one day only on March 2010 (Sunday)
