National Institute of Technology (NIT) Raipur was established in 1962, as a Government College of Engineering and Technology. It was inaugurated by the first Prime Minister of India Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Eligibility criteria
Undergraduate:
BE / B Tech / UG / Undergraduate: One should have passed Higher Secondary or 10+2 examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

Post Graduate:
ME / M Tech / PG / Postgraduate: Aspiring candidate should be a graduate in the field of science or engineering fulfilling the eligibility requirement as required by the respective disciplines.

MCA: Minimum Educational qualification required for admission to the MCA course is scoring minimum 60% marks (6.5/10 CGPA) in the examinations of class 12th, Graduation with Mathematics/ Statistics/ Business Mathematics as one of the subjects. There is a relaxation of 5% for SC/ST candidates.

NIT Reservations
50 % of the seats in N.I.T Trichy are reserved for Students from Tamilnadu. Rest 50% for students on All India basis.
