National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), established in
1963 by the Government of India with the assistance of United Nations
Development Project (UNDP) through the International Labour Organization
(ILO), is one of the leading Institutes for Management education. NITIE
is an autonomous body under the Ministry of HRD, Government of India
and is governed by a Board of Governors, comprising of eminent personalities
from Government, Academicians and Industry. Since its inception, NITIE
has been providing solutions to the complex problems of industries and
business, taking cognizance of ever changing needs of the dynamic business
environment. Located in the picturesque surroundings of north Mumbai
and flanked by Powai and Virar lakes, it provides an ideal ambience
for academic pursuit.

Eligibility & Selection: for NITIE 2010
GATE qualified 1st Class Engineering / Technology graduates in any branch.
GATE qualifiers get Teaching Assistantship. Admission is based on Group
Discussion and Interview with appropriate weightage given to GATE score.
Selection of Industry Sponsored candidates with First Class Degree in Engineering/Technology (with a minimum of 2 years industry experience) is through personal interview only. GATE score is not required for Sponsored candidates.
SC/ST candidates are granted financial assistance as per the scheme of Govt, of India vide letters No.11016/19/2005-SCD-I dated 21.6.2010 & No.19012/36/05-Education dated 27.6.2010 subject to the satisfactory fulfilment of terms and conditions mentioned therein.
Financial Support & Fees:
Financial assistance is provided to all candidates for four years except for external category.
Reservation and 5% relaxation on 18t Class % marks are applicable to SC/ST/PD candidates as per Govt, of India rules for both the programmes.
For both the programmes reservation of OBC candidates will be as per Government or India rules. Fulfilment of minimum qualifications is not an automatic claim for Group Discussion, Interview etc.
