Indian Economic / Statistical Services Exam

Age Limit:
Candidate’s age should not be greater than 28 years and not be less than 21 years on januray f1st of the year of entrance examination.
However, there is certain relaxation in age limit for reserved categories like SC / ST / OBC / PD.

Educational Qualifications:
Candidates seeking admission in ISS should have passed bachelor degree in mathematics / economics or statistics from a recognized university or its equivalent.

For admissions in IES, candidate should have passed bachelor degree in Economics or Statistics from a recognized university or equivalent.

Indian Economic/Statistical Services Exam Selection Procedure

Entrance exam is divided into two levels:
Written Test
Vocal Viva Test

Written Test:

ISS:
Written test will be on following subjects: General English (3 hrs duration, marks 150), general Studies (3 hrs duration, max marks = 150), Statistics I, II and III (each will be 200 marks and 3 hrs duration).

IES:
Written test will be on following subjects: General English (3 hrs duration, marks 150), general Studies (3 hrs duration, max marks = 150), General Economics I, II and Indian Economics (each will be 200 marks and 3 hrs duration).

Vocal Viva Test:
Candidates who cleared written test will be called for Viva examination.
