The National Institute of Technology (formerly known as Regional Engineering College) Tiruchirappalli, situated in the heart of Tamil Nadu on the banks of river Cauvery, was started as a joint and co-operative venture of the Government of India and the Government of Tamil Nadu in 1964 with a view to catering to the needs of man-power in technology for the country. The college has been conferred with autonomy in financial and administrative matters to achieve rapid development. Because of this rich experience, this institution was granted Deemed University Status with the approval of the UGC/AICTE and Govt. of India in the year 2003 and renamed as National Institute of Technology. NIT-T was registered under Societies Registration Act XXVII of 1975.

Apart from this the campus provides ample opportunities for developing extra curricular skills which include NCC, NSS, Students Chapters of IEEE, social clubs and sports & games. The Alumni of this institution have excelled in various spheres and are positioned very well globally in a number of leading Government, Public Sector & Private Organizations.

NIT-T hosts two inter collegiate fests namely Festember (Cultural) and Pragyan (Techinical) and an inter department fest namely NITTfest (Cultural) annually. These fests draw students from most colleges of South India and are hugely popular.

The College has a total campus area of 800 acres. This includes good hostel facilites, Hospital, Post & Telegraph, Telecom Center, fully computerized State Bank of India branch with ATM facility, Book stall, Reprographic Center, Canteen, Swimming pool and Co-op. Stores.

Eligibility :
1) Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a Recognized University with not less than 60% marks (55% for SC/ST) in the aggregate taking into account the marks scored in
all subjects of all the University Examination conducted during the entire prescribed period of the degree programme. . Final year students can also apply but admission is subject to fulfilling the eligibility criteria.

2) CAT 2010 Score
Admission is based on the Rank/Score obtained in the CAT 2010 and Group Discussion / Interview

Availability of application form: 1st week of March 2010
Last date for receipt of filled in application form along with required DD by post /hand: 1st week of May, 2010
Dispatch of Admit card: 2nd week of May, 2010
Date & Time of Examination: Last week of May 2010
Date of Publication of Result in the Institute website: Early June 2010
Group Discussion/Interview: 3rd week of June, 2010
Counseling Dates: June, 2010

Admission TO M.B.A. Programme 2010

Applications are invited from Indian citizens for admission to the M.B.A. PROGRAMME for the Academic year 2009-10.
Application form and other information can be downloaded from the links shown below and sent to the Dy. Registrar (Academic), NITK along with a D.D. for Rs.600/- (in case of SC/ST, Rs.150/-) drawn in favour of the Director, National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal, Srinivasnagar, payable at State Bank of India/Canara Bank, at Surathkal. Application without the D.D for the required amount will not be considered. The last date for submission of completed application is 30.04.2010.

Admission Process
Application form and other information can also be downloaded from NITK Website http://www.nitk.ac.in from 07.11.2009 and sent to the Dy. Registrar (Academic) NITK along with necessary D.D. Rs.600/- ( Rs.150/-for SC/ST) drawn in favour of the Director, NITK Surathkal, payable at Mangalore. Application without the D.D for the required amount will not be considered.
