OvervieewsThe Punjab University Common Entrance Test is conducted for admission to M.B.B.S. Course at Govt. Medical College Chandigarh, B.D.S at Dr. Harvansh Singh Judge Institute of Dental Sciences, B.A.M.S. at Shri Dhantwantry Ayurvedic College, Chandigarh, B.H.M.S. at Homeopathic Medical College, B.Pharma at University institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences, B.A. LL.B (Hons) at University Institute of Legal Studies, P.U. & Punjab University Regional Centre, Ludhiana and B.Sc. (H) in Anthropology, Bio Chemistry, Bio physics, Bio Technology, Botany, Computer Science, Chemistry, Geology Mathematics, Mathematics & Computing, Microbiology, Physics and Zoology
at the Teaching Departments at the University Campus.
Eligibility
A pass in 10+2 (Science stream) exam with English, Physics, Chemistry,
and Mathematics or its equivalent conducted by a recognised Board/ Institution.
Candidates who have passed Diploma in Engineering/Technology from the
Punjab State Board of Technical Education and Industrial Training with
60% marks are also eligible. Candidates who have appeared in the qualifying
exam can appear in CET. Age limit of the candidates should not be above
22 years of age July 1 of the year of admission (3 years relaxation
in case of SC/St candidates)
Reservation of seats
SC- 15%, ST-7%, BE- 5%. Seats are also reserved for handicapped, sports
persons, Defense personnel, terrorist victims, rural areas, political
sufferers, Freedom Fighters, NRIs etc.

Selection :
On the basis of merit in CET held in the month of May at various centres
in the state and also at Chandigarh, Delhi, Jammu and Kurukshetra. Punjab
University will publish merit list of candidates who obtain 15% marks
(10% for SC / ST / BC ) in aggregate. Admission of candidates to Architecutre
course is made as per their merit position in CET secured on the basis
of marks obtained by them in the subject of Physics, Chemistry, and
Mathematics and Architectural aptitude test. Candidates who qualify
the test are informed individually and the list of successful candidates
is notified in leading newspapers. The admission to Thapar Institute
of Engineering and Technology, Patiala and other three affiliated to
the Punjab University, Chandigarh shall be based on the relative merit
of candidates determined by the result of the Joint Entrance Test
